About us
Before the internet was a thing, our founder and CEO Terry Laskowski, who was a young freight broker, took the chance to reposition a few flatbed loads of chassis for a good customer.
What he learned was eye-opening.
The needs of intermodal equipment providers were far more complex than those of most other shippers. Terry quickly recognized that simply booking an available truck for an intermodal shipment wasn’t enough. With moving intermodal equipment came intimidating challenges that required quick-thinking creative solutions, challenges that Terry saw as opportunities, the very same challenges that those mega three-letter freight brokers and recent college graduates consistently fumbled.
In today’s complex world, there is the daily need for drivers to be registered with UIIA, TWIC or Sealink and to have the proper insurance to pick up and deliver to most railroads, deports and ports. Compared to most shippers, intermodal equipment providers need additional visibility with deadly accurate daily unit number reporting and tracking for multi-layered intermodal transportation projects.
Our expert intermodal equipment logistics coordinators specialize in providing quick thinking creative solutions to today’s toughest intermodal equipment shipping issues.
At the railyard or container depot, not all shipments are the same. Intermodal equipment project managers, and even lift operators themselves sometimes need guidance on how to build road stacks of chassis or how to load certain types of intermodal equipment onto different types of flatbed trailers, this was uncharted territory for those cookie-cutter three-letter 3PLs. Guiding the loading process is kryptonite for noobs like them that solely live to avoid liability and achieve their quarterly sales goals. For that reason, most freight brokers are not a good fit for the landmines and pitfalls that come with the challenges of repositioning intermodal equipment.
Just by providing sensible solutions to common problems that intermodal equipment project managers face, Terry has grown CargoMatchMaker into a team of a team of intermodal problem solvers who can handle today’s toughest truckload issues.
